Festival Organisers
CycleFest is organised by South Lakes Action on Climate Change and Transition South Lakes. Both groups consist of volunteer members of the community.
South Lakes Action on Climate Change (SLACC)
Formed in February 2007 SLACC works to increase awareness of climate change issues and to make South Lakes a more sustainable and enjoyable place to live. SLACC is a largely campaign based organisation but is running a wide variety of different 'on the ground' projects this year. See www.slacc.org.uk for more information.
Transition South Lakes (TSL)
TSL was formed in May 2008 and currently consists of a core steering group and five working groups: Energy & Buildings, Transport, Community & Events, Local Government and Food & Agriculture. TSL exists to plan and implement practical projects aimed at helping South Lakes make the transition to a low carbon economy. See www.transition-south-lakes.org.uk for more information. |
